In a previous COBB Blog Article, 2015 STI Development : Staged Power Package Evaluation,  we explained the necessity for fuel system upgrades on the newest 2015 STI.  That necessity carries back to the 2008-2014 STI as well.  This is your solution!  The COBB Stage 3 Power Package is a simple bolt-on and tuning solution that will allow you to maximize the power output of your 2011-2014 Subaru STI Hatch! The heart of this package is the Accessport V3. With the increased airflow from a 3″ Stainless Steel Turboback exhaust and SF Intake & Airbox combo, increasing the capability of the fuel system becomes pivotal in making more power reliably. The COBB High Flow Fuel Pump, 725cc Fuel Injectors, and Fuel Pressure Regulator Upgrade provide a substantial fuel system upgrade. Combine the airflow modifications and fuel system upgrades to maximize the power output with the factory turbocharger on your STI!

  1. Hi Folks, I have a 2016 WRX STi with the SF Airbox + SF Intake System + AP. I have the factory “Performance Exhaust” option. I’m running Stage 1+ as other blogs have mentioned, my factory injectors\pump can’t keep up with fuel delivery for Stage 2. So I’m looking at going Stage 3 in the spring. To do this I would, of course, purchase all the Stage 3 components that I don’t already have installed but my question is this: Is my Performance Exhaust up to the task of a full Stage 3 kit if I don’t use Cobb 3″ Cat-Back exhaust? Or is the Cobb 3″ Cat-Back exhaust a prerequisite that I must also purchase? Thanks!

    • Hey Craig,

You’ll need to upgrade the downpipe but can get away with your cat-back on the Stage3 maps. You would pick up a few horsepower at the wheels with the COBB cat-back but it isn’t required.

  2. Yes, I would like to speak with a Cobb rep reference me wanting to add the Cobb Stage 3 + FF Power Package on to my 2016 Subaru WRX STI, but I have questions reference if this will voild out my warranty? And what about having normal Subaru services done? I am told that if I mod out my brand new STI, every time I take her in for service that SOA will know that I have done mods to my STI. How will this effect my warranty with SOA? And just overall basic services that has to be completed.
    Thanks
    Shaun

    • Hi Shaun!

There is no blanket “if you install this or do this your warranty is 100% voided” despite what may be tossed around on the internet or even written in the owners manual. This really comes down to the relationship you have with your dealer and how they view modifications. Sure, if you take your shiny new 2016 STI in for an oil change with a complete exhaust and flex fuel system installed, they may note it down for future reference but they cannot just flat out “deny your warranty”.

  3. I have the V3 SUB-003 for my 2011 WRX. Today, I bought the 2016 STi. Can I use the SUB-003 on the new car? The release above suggests only the 004.

    • Congrats on the new car! While the SUB-003 would not be compatible with your new 2016 STI we can definitely help you get it set up to do so! Give our Customer Service team a call at 1-866-922-3059 or email [email protected] and we’ll get you taken care of!
