Boxerfest 2015 – COBB Recap
Boxerfest has become the top Subaru meet in the mid-Atlantic region. This year was no different where last weekend more than 2,500 people went out to FedEx Field near Washington D.C. to attend. Several vendors, crowds of people, and of course, tons of cars, made for an exciting day with a lot to see. The vendor booths, car show, autocross event, and raffle were some of the main attractions.
We were fortunate to have a few Subaru guys bring their cars to our booth for the event. The fully built by Area1320 2008 STi belongs to our friend Zachary Emerick. It has tons of go fast parts, makes over 400whp, and thanks to Toyo/Forgeline, has 335s all around to put the power to the ground. Alongside this monster was a 2015 STI with basically every bolt-on that exists. With COBB 1000cc injectors on e85, it makes 350 horsepower at the wheels.
It’s always fun to attend these events with fellow enthusiasts. We were able to talk to hundreds of people about their cars, get a better understanding of new features and parts the community wants, help answer product questions, and even install a couple of brand new Accessports!
It’s also a great time to check out what’s new with our fellow manufacturers. IAG Performance was in attendance with great displays and tons of parts, from short blocks to apparel, for the Subaru community. They also brought out this beast of a machine:
The strictly business STi powered TR-42 looked insane. It even made a few passes on the autocross course.
Of course, it’s Accessport equipped.
Subaru of America was also in attendance. They brought out a walk-through trailer that showed off Subaru’s Rally Car heritage and some cool equipment. They also brought an actual competition car to the event!
There were so many great cars! Every Subaru from basic bolt-on daily drivers to full on show/race cars was in attendance.
There were a few uncommon Subarus at Boxerfest too. This mint BRAT definitely turned some heads.
One of the most modded and cleanest SVXs we’ve ever seen was also in attendance.
Everything came together to make this a great event! We’re looking forward to an even bigger crowd and more cars at Boxerfest 2016. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out. We’ll see you at Boxerfest 2016!
