GT-R: 2016 Support, COBB Traction Control and TCM Logging

We’re happy to announce that the USDM 2016 GT-R is now supported!   Simply update your NIS-007/008 Accessport to the latest firmware and the new MY will be recognized and supported.  Visit a Protuner near you for custom tuning.  TCM flashing and OTS maps will be available soon!

Differences between MY 2015 – 2016

There are a few changes in the logic between the 2015 and 2016 GT-Rs.  These changes are fairly subtle but worth mentioning.
Knock Control: This table is now extended to 7100rpm in the factory logic.  The knock sensitivity at higher rpms is much lower.
Dynamic Advance – Max Low Det.: The table which controls the absence of knock is set to 0.
Dynamic Advance – Knock Decrement: Values have been lowered which effectively takes out less ignition timing when knock is detected.
Ignition – Intake Air Temp. Correction Multiplier: Values have been reduced causing a reduction in ignition timing adjustment in response to intake air temperature measured by the MAF.

COBB Advanced Traction Control and TCM Logging

Our engineering team has been hard at work for several months working on bringing new features to this platform. It’s now time to harvest the fruits of their labor! Advanced Traction Control and TCM logging is now available!

Advanced Traction Control

The new COBB Traction Control feature is able to take a vehicle speed (averaged from the front two wheels) compared to a driven speed (rear two wheels) and take a properly calculated slip number into our own proprietary PID loop algorithm which will then calculate the proper amount of ignition timing to be reduced. This feature is currently supported through Accesstuner Pro and available for 08 WM – 12 WM (09 – 13 USDM) vehicles. Visit a Protuner near you to get these features enabled.  Soon, this will be user adjustable in real-time on the Accessport and available through Accesstuner Race! More details on that to come!
Check out more details on Traction Control here.

TCM Logging

TCM Logging allows the tuner to log transmission data monitors through Accesstuner Pro. Support in Firmware and Accesstuner Race will be available soon. The supported TCMs include Gen 1 LC3, LC4, and LC5 as well as Gen 2 LC1 and LC2. Basically everything except for the factory logic in the early CBA cars that are rarely used.
This feature is setup by launching your TCM definition file in Accesstuner and then running dashboard or data logging after you choose the TCM data monitors.

Cranking and Post Start Fueling

Cranking a 1000whp GT-R running on e85 can take some effort. Accomplishing that same feat in the cold can be even more difficult. The new Cranking and Post Start Fueling enrichment tables aim to make it easier. The Cranking and Post Start Fueling Guide can be found here.

Stay tuned for more exciting features coming soon to the GT-R platform!
