Wicked Big Meet – COBB Recap
Once a year the small town of Stafford Springs, CT becomes Subaru Central for thousands of die-hard enthusiasts. People drive from all over North America to attend what has now become the world’s largest gathering of Subaru enthusiasts, dubbed Wicked Big Meet. This year, 6,300 enthusiasts including vendors, volunteers, and attendees made this the largest turnout to date.
Subaru of America brought an optical onslaught of coolness including the unveiling of a new special edition 2016 STI and BRZ in Hyper Blue, an Impreza WRX STI S206 straight from Japan, and the class winning 24 Hours of Nürburgring WRX STI. As a cherry on top, David Higgins made a surprise entrance in his Subaru Rally Team USA 2015 STI built by Vermont SportsCar.
Vendor Row was a flooded with top Subaru shops from around the country! This is were you come to check out all of the latest and greatest products available for you Subaru! Anything from purpose built race cars to examples of an ideal daily driver littered the lot.
Activities such as an All-Subaru AutoX, Loudest Exhaust, and Lowest Subaru competitions were sure to keep the most difficult to please entertained all day long.
Once the dust settled, all gathered for the most rewarding part of the day, raffle time!! This year, more than 60 vendors contributed a grand total of $25,000 worth of give-aways! Free dyno tunes, Accessports, coilover suspension systems, gift cards, exhaust systems, brake rotors, etc. You name it, you can win it!
