Pannone’s AccessPORT Equipped MS6 Pulls Fastest Recorded MS6 Quarter Mile Time!

Here is a real-world result on just what a powerful tuning tool the COBB Tuning AccessPORT can be. Recently, Anthony Pannone ran his AccessPORT-tuned MAZDASPEED6 at Atco Raceway in New Jersey to record the fastest ever known drag run by a MAZDASPEED6! Anthony was able to run past the trap in 12.9-seconds at 106.7mph! This was done with an E-Tune calibrated by COBB Tuning’s very own Christian Krahenbuhl.

“I bought my MAZDASPEED6 in February of 2007,” said Anthony. “It was my first performance car as I had come from an automatic four door sedan that carried the “all show, no go” label. All of the modifications of my previous car were sound and visual upgrades because performance parts were few and far between. I quickly got bit by the “mod bug” and started buying performance parts for my MS6. I started with the usual first parts such as a cold air intake and cat-back exhaust. Soon it was time to upgrade to a downpipe and front mount intercooler for better flow and cooling efficiency. At this point I realized that I needed a way to bring all of these parts together and get them to work in sync with each other.”

“The MS3 community had a tuning device I was very jealous of and when news about the AccessPORT’s availability for the MS6 I immediately sold the competitor’s product I had been using and purchased an AccessPORT from COBB Tuning. The car ran excellent in every way and the stutters and hiccups were a thing of the past.”

“Christian introduced himself to the community and began to select people to beta test OTS maps for the MS6 to get their map database started. While I was involved in the beta testing program I was given a challenge by a fellow enthusiast. It was a competition to see how well the AccessPORT would stand up against a competing product in a dyno test. The forums were full of controversy about which of the tuning solutions would yield higher results. Christian and I worked together on an E-Tune to get my car dialed in just right so that we would come out on top. The dyno competition never did come about, but I completed a dyno run on a Mustang dyno to the tune of 288whp and 337wtq.”

“This was then backed up by a drag run of 12.90 @ 106.75. To my knowledge this is the highest trap speed of any stock turbo MAZDASPEED6 that has posted on all relevant Mazda forums. The AccessPORT is much more than a tuning device as I use it to data log different engine parameters, check and clear trouble codes, and even do a 0-60 or dynamometer tests here and there. It is the ultimate tuning device for the MAZDASPEED community.”
