As a Buyer/Purchasing Agent, you will work with a team of enthusiastic Operations and Procurement specialists who are passionate about maintaining the availability and quality of our products that our customers enjoy. You will play a key role in: processing and maintaining purchase orders using NetSuite ERP/MRP system; ensuring timely and efficient receipt of business related goods; and maintaining supplier relationships and achieving cost/performance targets – including short to long-term planning and supplier development. You will also work closely with Receiving, Quality Management, Production, Engineering, and Accounting departments and provide general support throughout the company with respect to procurement and purchasing needs. You will organize and execute against daily to monthly operational requirements. Attention to detail and consistent follow-through are critical to the success of this role. We want all of our customers to get exactly what they ordered, shipped as they requested, so that we can continue to dazzle our customers.

Buyer/Purchasing Agent: Job description

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Overview:

Process and maintain purchase orders using NetSuite ERP/MRP system. Work closely with Receiving, Quality Management, and Accounts Payable departments. Ensure timely and efficient receipt of business related goods. Provide general company-wide support to various COBB Departments.

 

The Buyer will support supplier relationship management and the achievement of cost/performance targets. This will include short, mid, and long-term planning and supplier development.

 

Details:

This position is responsible for transactional support and procurement of required materials and services needed to support the business.

 

Experienced Buyer is responsible for administration of all day to day procurement activities including, but not limited to, reviewing requisitions, issuing Request-For-Quote (RFQs), issuing Purchase Orders (POs), handling expedited orders (as well as delaying orders), coordinating delivery terms, and communicating with internal customers and external vendors.

 

Buyer will also work with quality team, materials management, and accounts payable to resolve invoicing and receiving discrepancies.

 

This person will also be responsible for dispatching and maintaining POs (standard and blanket) and finding innovative ways to reduce non-value added transactions. Individuals must be capable of being hands on, digging into details and delivering across the organization.

 

Secures and analyzes quotations and conducts moderate negotiations with all levels of suppliers for the purchase of goods and/or services. Assist in development and implementation of commodity strategies to establish long-term sources. Serves as primary interface on all commercial matters related to suppliers.

 

This role requires the ability to be exceptionally organized and execute against daily, weekly, and monthly operational requirements. Attention to detail and consistent follow through are critical to the success of this role.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
