  • Accessport for the Mazda RX-8 was released in February, which has quickly become the de facto tuning solution for that platform.
  • Accessport for the Nissan 350Z (2003-2006) was released in March.

  • Accessport for the Mazdaspeed3 was released in May.
  • Accessport for the Nissan GT-R JDM and US models was released in August. The GT-R Accessport is the most widely used ECU tuning tool for the R35 GT-R in the world.

  • Accessport firmware improved throughout 2008 by implementing new features and capabilities. New functionality includes performance tests (Dyno, 0-60 mph, ΒΌ mile), fuel economy, enhanced live data display with min/max memory, and datalogging.
  • Through a successful Time Attack racing program, COBB has proven to be a top tier tuning company in both the US and across the world. The COBB Mazdaspeed3 won every event it entered, save one. 2007

  • Continued working with Prova Japan, debuting the Prova short shifter – based off of the COBB billet short shifter.

2006

  • Begin development of a full carbon fiber WRX specifically designed for Time Attack. First full carbon WRX made in North America.
  • Released second generation Accessport for the Subaru platform.
  • Acquired second Mustang dyno and opened a second dyno testing facility located trackside at Miller Motorsports Park.
  • COBB supports Pat and Natalie Richard’s Subaru STi in the first ever X-Games Rally.
  • COBB custom built Supercharged Tribeca appears in Motor Trend magazine.

2005

  • Debut of Prova Accessport for Japanese market at Tokyo Auto Salon.
  • Release of Accesstuner Pro and Accesstuner Race, allowing end users and professional tuners the ability to design their own maps for use with the Accessport.
  • Expanded into 20,000 sq ft facility to accomodate growth.
  • Continued to release many revolutionary new products, as well as redesigning some of our most successful.

2004

  • COBB debuts Accessport, a handheld ECU programmer. The first and only ever made for Subaru vehicles. Also the first ever made for any vehicle that allowed users to update via the Internet. First with Realtime map technology.
  • COBB tuning powers a 2004 Forester XT sponsored by Subaru of America used in One Lap of America competition to a 14th place overall finish.
  • COBB prepped custom widebody WRX STi sponsored by Subaru of America to compete in SCCA Solo2/ProSolo competitions in Street Modified class, which features heavily modified street legal machines. Replacement for the vehicle “Conebasher”, which was used in competition from 2001-2003.

2003

  • COBB debuts reprogramming technology for Subaru WRX ECU’s, the first and only North America company to develop their own technology.
  • Conebasher captures 3rd Place in Car and Driver’s Super Tuner Shootout.
  • Several National Level Solo2 and ProSolo wins in Street Modified class with Conebasher.
  • COBB engines and tuning power Gary Sheehan’s WRX through successful US Touring Car season including 3 wins and all podium finishes with no engine failures all season.

2002

  • COBB engine powers David Higgin’s AV Sport WRX to SCCA Pro Rally Overall Championship defeating works teams such as Subaru/Prodrive and Hyundai North America’s first Wide-Bodied new generation Subaru WRX is debuted by COBB (Conebasher).
  • Conebasher captures trophy position at SCCA Solo2 Nationals in Street Modified class.
  • Conebasher outperforms all other all-wheel drive vehicles (Skyline/Lancer/WRX) in Sports Compact Car Tuner shootout before being totaled into water truck.
  • COBB engine powers Gary Sheehan’s WRX to a class win in the Open Track Challenge.

2001

  • Fastest Subaru to compete at the SCCA Solo2 Nationals as well as winning regional class championships.
  • COBB racing WRX engine (2.5L) captures first outright win in a National Level Rally USA event in only its second outting.
  • North America’s first Subaru aftermarket tuning company to offer in-house AWD Dyno tuning.

2000
