Description

Accessport V2 to V3 Trade-in Program

For a limited time, exclusively through COBB, trade in your Version 2 Accessport for 50% off a brand new Accessport V3 (direct from COBB). Join the big screen, mountable, 6-monitor revolution of in-cabin tuning.

Instructions:

  1. Purchase a new upgrade eligible V3 Accessport direct from COBB for your application here: click here for products.
  2. Once your new product arrives, follow the included instructions to Uninstall (un-marry) your current Accessport from your vehicle.
  3. Please make sure to back up all of your maps with Accessport Manager.
  4. Pack all V2 components in your V3 box or similar sized package and ship it back to us!
  5. Finally, just ship your V2 back to us within 30 days.

Once received, COBB will verify your Accessport has been correctly uninstalled and will process your refund for half the V3 purchase amount (minus tax and shipping). If you have any questions about this process, please email support@cobbtuning.com or call 866-922-3059.

Subaru Accessport Features:

Simple Installation:  Everything is included for the simple installation!  Intuitive on-screen instructions identify your exact vehicle and available maps.

Simple Uninstall:  Revert your ECU to exactly as it was before with the easy to use Uninstall option from the main menu.

Trouble Codes:  Read engine trouble codes to diagnose issues.  Clear them when resolved.  Prevent expensive trips to the dealership.

Change Maps:  Store up to 100 maps from our OTS map database or from your favorite COBB tuner and quickly switch between them for any need.

Gauges ? Use your Accessport as a gauge to monitor boost or any other live information, directly from the ECU.

Data Logging:  Record multiple data channels simultaneously for in-depth evaluation of engine performance.  Stores up to 10 hours.

Performance Measuring:  Welcome to your own performance evaluation suite!  Measure 0-60 mph time, 60 foot and ¼ mile ET’s. and Trap Speed.

Shift Light:  Set custom RPM warning lights for perfect shifts every time.

Auto On/Off Detection:  This feature, when enabled, allows the Accessport to power on when the vehicle is detected to be running and shut down once the engine has been turned off.

Accesstuner: Create custom calibrations for your vehicle using Accesstuner software! For modifications beyond COBB Stage Power Packages, custom tuning may be required. For customers interested in doing that themselves, completing a training course will be required prior to downloading the software.

Realtime Tuning
Changes can be made to the map in realtime, while the engine is running. Greatly speeds up the tuning process and allows quick changes to powerful features like Lauch Control, Flat Foot Shift, and map switching.

Adjust Idle
Adjust engine idle on the fly to compensate for aftermarket accessories such as light weight flywheels and upgraded cams. Separate Accessport menus allow for idle speeds to be adjusted for A/C ON and A/C OFF conditions.

Adjust Timing (STI Only)
Globally reduce timing on the fly to compensate for bad pump fuel.

Flat Foot Shifting
Keep the throttle on the floor during shifts and maintain boost between gears with this customizable RPM setting. 
** Not available for WRX CVT or Forester XT.

Launch Control
Set RPM threshold for performance launching the car from a stop. Builds boost and generates instantaneous horsepower off the line.

Launch Mode (Forester XT & WRX CVT Only)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2015 Forester XT I’ve owned several Subarus, including an ’04 WRX, ’05 LGT, and ’09 Outback XT (all with manual transmissions). I’ve had COBB Stage 1 AccessPort tuning on all three. I just bought a 2015 Forester XT Premium and used the Cobb trade-in program to get a V3. Frankly, I’m amazed. First, let me say that I’m one of those self-congratulatory curmudgeons who lambasts non-manual options for performance vehicles (you know the type – YouTube is filled with their disdainful reviews), and I also really disliked the standard Outback with CVT that I drove a little bit last year. But, when I first drove a Forester XT I was very impressed with the mating of the turbo engine and the CVT. That was a test drive of the 2014 version. Now that I’ve owned the ’15 for a bit, I can say I’m even more impressed with the engineering that went into this pairing. There’s a subtle complexity to the way the system responds to various inputs that make driving the car effectively more than just a simple back and forth sequence of thrusts to the accelerator and brake pedals. But, it’s not perfect by any means. The problem is that the system is trying to serve too many masters. It wants to be peppy and responsive, but it also wants to be frugal. And, no automatic transmission is ever going to be psychic and understand what you want every time you want it. That’s where Cobb’s tuning comes into play. It keeps the nuance, enhances the pleasure, and increases the drivability (a term you see a lot in reviews and in forums – overused but essentially accurate). I have no idea how they do this or what goes into the process, but in the case of the Forester XT I would call what they’ve engineered: “purposefulness.” The car seems less confused as it now understands that I, as the driver, prioritize performance over other competing goals. As such, the engine revs to the natural shift points you would select if you were in control yourself. It sounds better, feels better, and just plainly drives better (of course, there's more power too...). It’s not night and day, but it’s a clear change that any driver who really “feels” their car will notice immediately. Yes, you get used to it over time, but that’s a good thing not a bad thing. Cobb’s system integrates so cleanly that it becomes a normal part of the driving experience (whether you’re shooting onto the freeway in “S#” or rolling around town in “i”). Cobb made all my previous Subarus an even greater joy to drive, but I think that with this latest tune they have outdone all their previous work. There are drawbacks to the Forester XT for sure, but with the Cobb in play it’s so easy to overlook them and simply enjoy what I consider to be the best driving experience in any Subaru to date.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typical Cobb Quality I purchased the V3 as an upgrade for my new 2015 STi using a v2 from my 2011. A step up in my mind certainly in screen quality. Usability seems similar to previous version however the new menu and graphics are a nice change. The changeable front cover seems odd and is very difficult to remove. I have not changed mine for that reason. The case and mounting features are great. I especially like that the read of the unit is magnetic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NICE ADDITION!! Second access port i have owned, only use it for flashing stages so all the bells and whistles i don't need. Wish there was a lower version just for flashing stages and saving custom pro tunes without all the flat foot shifting etc. But if you want to mod your car and can't afford pro tuning for every modification you add up to stage 2 this is for you !!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Experience!! This is my 2nd V3 AP I’ve purchased for a WRX through Cobb. First time using the trade in. Once ordered, the AP arrived in a couple days and I received an email within 3 days after shipping back a V2 saying they had received it. Within 2 days of receiving that email, Cobb had put half of the money I spent on the new V3 back into my account. I always recommend Cobb products to all of my friends and possibly the best customer service I’ve dealt with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Service!!! Great Product!!! Upgrading from the V-2 to the V-3 for my 2013 STI was a definite win! It is so much faster, versatile and easier to read. The Mount and magnetic holster it comes with perfectly mounts and holds it in my car. Any one who owns a car that can use a V-3 Access port I would definitely recommend it. It'll introduce you to a whole new car!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of install and great features! The new Cobb AP V3 is a great addition that is the most bang for your buck modification. It is a great way to improve upon the factory ECU tune and add instant HP by "marrying it." You will have a device as a monitor or to set different parameters (FFS - Flat Foot Shifting and LC - Launch Control), all in the palm of your hands. I paired this with a pillar mount, unbelievable. After I heard that the mount with the adhesive was not too great.
