Description

Constructed of black 5-ply silicone, the COBB Turbo Inlet is a direct replacement for your 2008-2014 WRX, 2005-2009 Legacy GT, or 2005-2009 Outback XT! The custom silicone construction of the COBB Turbo Inlet rejects high engine bay temperatures and keeps the intake air closer to ambient temperature. The steel wire reinforced design eliminates the issue of hose collapse that other inlet hoses suffer under vacuum at peak demand, yet allows adequate flex between the engine and the intake.

Why?

Utilizing the COBB Turbo Inlet will eliminate the factory 'accordion-style' hose that can cause turbulence in the intake tract. Increasing the efficiency of the inlet will reduce stress on the engine as it is able to breathe much easier with a higher-flowing intake path.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fitment is an issue This pipe is a quality unit but the install is hindered by design. the pipe is too long on both ends and needs to be trimmed. Air box side needs trimmed about 1/4" (to fit with Cobb SF Intake) and the inlet side needs trimmed about 1/2". So take your time or have a professional install this. I would have given five stars but the fact that I had to cut on a $250 "bolt-on" part was frustrating to say the least.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the hassle! I purchased this product several weeks ago, and have put about 1500 miles on it so far. This is a fairly difficult install because of the tight space you have to work with. After I installed the inlet pipe, I had a mechanic friend double check everything, make sure everything was reinstalled correctly. I will say that getting on the throttle makes the intake scream! I definitely notice better response and turbo spool, so in the end it's worth the install time, several hrs, be prepared!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome quality but tight fit Awesome quality it's definitely a tight fit. You still have to cut to fit. It would be nice if there were a marker line to know where to cut and save time. All in all its an awesome piece just be prepared it's going to take a while to install. I did notice a bit of an improvement in power around bottom end and mid rpm you can definitely her a bit of a difference between the stock inlet and this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tight fit Installed it today .noticed turbo spooling and breathing better feels more torque. Fit great with cobb sf after trimming of course the hardest part was the recirculating hose had to disconnect it from the bov side and install it to the inlet first then rout it back to the bov .had to relocate the cobb ebcs as well but i found a good spot for it

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful piece, but I had fitment issues I had to do the IM gaskets on my 08 wrx and decided while I was at it I would replace the inlet and intercooler hose for reliability sake. Being a huge fan and a frequent buyer of Cobb products, I saw that they released a new inlet hose for the 08-14 wrx so the decision on which manufacturer to buy became really simple. Looking back, I wish I had waited for some reviews to see how it fit before I purchased it, so I'll try to answer any fitment questions right now. Car- 2008 wrx (other cars may fit better?) When I got the inlet hose I was blown away by the quality. It is a beautiful piece that looks like a lot of care was put into the quality of it. The fitment left a little to be desired though. Without modifying it, the inlet hose extended past the power steering pump. I had to cut approx 1.5 inches off of the turbo side of the inlet to be able to make all of the connections on the inlet work. It is REALLY tight around the front where all of the boost control lines hook in. I almost couldn't get that bracket secure with the inlet hose in place. Putting the air box in was a challenge too. The inlet left a really unnatural kink in the oem after maf hose that I wasn't happy with. I suppose I could have cut some out of the air box side of the inlet, but at that point I decided to reach out to Cobb and put the oem inlet back in. I'm sure Cobb will take care of me, and I am still awaiting a response from them regarding fitment. Don't be afraid of buying this product.. I think it just needs a revision

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice Pipe fitment issues I love cobb products, so of course I ordered this. When I got it the craftsmanship was amazing and it looked stunning. I was so excited to get it on the car. So starts the PIA. I ended up deciding to not put this in because I had to cut and modify it to just fit even though the site says it's a OEM replacement. I contacted cobb and wanted a refund and later found out that I was not in their system for this purchase. I talked to cobb support and they basically told me all these turbo inlet hoses need this done, bought a perrin and in 10 mins had the hose installed no cutting needed. I now have a brand new inlet hose that I need to get rid of and am losing money over. the instructions were terrible and mainly focused on the sti install. I still love my cobb products but was terribly disappointed with this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Engineered? My suggestion: Don't buy this. Buy one that fits properly and was manufactured to fit by the engineers not by the best judgement of the customer. Reason: The word engineering does not come to mind when describing this product. You pretty much have to cram this thing in under the intake manifold. It interferes with every connector. Good luck getting the electrical connector bracket back on. I bought this for reliability due to the well known issues with the OEM inlet. The Cobb Inlet needs to be trimmed to fit. This says it all to me. They cut corners making this thing universal for different cars. Cut it too short? Tough luck. You bought it, and you screwed it up. Looking back, I would have gladly paid the extra money for a competitors product that fits and does not need any trimming by the customer. Would be nice if they threw in a few hose clamps for the vacuum lines or maybe a shorter, proper length bolt for the electrical connector bracket. As a mechanical engineer, I am not impressed at all. I feel like this was a product they gave to their new hire and no one critiqued it. Rev 1 straight to Rev A - Ship it!. It did look nice out of the box, though I prefer function over fashion.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great quality piece but.. When I got it in the mail I was blown away by the size and quality of this beautiful inlet hose. If you plan on installing this yourself you will need to cut the inlet hose to the right length. I did that by laying it side by side with the OEM inlet hose to guesstimate how much I need to cut off both turbo side and intake side. There are no instructions... Yet. I know Cobb is working on it so I won't make that a big deal. The hose connectors fit nice and snug in the inlet but don't forget to remove them when sliding it under the intake manifold or it won't go in easy. That is if you don't take the time to remove the intake manifold. You don't need to. When I went to go clamp down my inlet to my intake hose the hose clamp wasn't big enough so I bought a bigger one. Also remember to hose clamp EVERYTHING so you don't get boost leak. It doesn't come with hose clamps to use on the smaller OEM hoses, so you will need to buy some. When it comes to performance I do notice my turbo spoiling louder. So I guess the turbo inlet hose is doing its job very well. Way better then the OEM inlet that's for sure. The Subaru turbo inlet hoses are cheap and rip easily, so I do subject replacing it. In the end this turbo inlet hose is a great quality piece! Just wish it came with instructions on how much to cut and how to install. Thanks
