Software Engineer

Maintain and develop COBB software products - Accessport device firmware, complimentary software products deployed to customers, and utilities used internally to support and maintain all software products.

Applicable candidates must have the following:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in EE, CS, CE, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of professional software development
  • 1+ years of embedded product development
  • Proficiency with C/C++ and Object-oriented programming
  • Ability to problem-solve and provide high quality solutions
  • Ability to debug outside of conventional IDEs and debuggers
  • Good communication skills, and the ability to contribute as an individual in a team setting

Strong candidates will also have experience with many of the following:

  • Automobile engine operation and tuning fundamentals

DATA ARCHITECT JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Marketing/Data team is looking for a seasoned Data Architect who has vision, and proven ability, to define and deliver a robust, yet flexible Data Structure.  This position requires that you are able to design, develop and maintain a SQL based Data Warehouse.

As a leader in the performance automotive space, Cobb Tuning collects data from thousands of customers and the Data Architect will be responsible for defining how that data is collected, managed, and leveraged. 

Responsibilities to include:
To analyze, design, and drive data modeling for the business.  This will include data schemas, data dictionaries, and the development of a data warehouse the will bridge across the entire organization’s applications, website platform, and systems. Provide an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts. Work with management and the end users to understand business requirements to identify these data solutions. Develop roadmaps and strategies for applications, data acquisitions, archive & recovery, and implementation of a database warehouse on an enterprise level.  Successful applicants will have significant experience with the design, development and maintenance of enterprise level data systems such as Oracle or SQL Server.

The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Define and Extend our Data Model – across all internal and external platforms
  • Provide guidance for Users and Business Owners – who seek data - across the organization
  • Provide Data expertise to the Data Architecture team or other data application teams
  • Assist Users with data quality issues – and track issues thru resolution
  • Assist in Data requirements gathering process analysis
  • Assist in trouble-shooting data quality issues and problems.
  • Work directly with the business to construct rich Data Assets to solve Data-Driven problems.
  • Data profiling of all Data Flows

Requirements:

6+ Plus Years of Relevant Work Experience
Experience with Enterprise Data Models for at least 3 Major Industries – Retail, Internet, Financial, Manufacturing, Inventory, Games. SQL based platform Developer experience.

Special Qualifications

  • Strong data modeling experience and key understanding of relational database development including the ability to write and tune SQL queries on large database systems
  • Experience in the complete data warehouse project life cycle is required (requirements gathering, architecture, design, implementation, and tuning)
  • Ability to perform requirements gathering on existing environment and documentation
  • Specialty in developing data warehouses based on medium-scale source databases
  • Significant experience in the process of extracting data from multiple sources including a data warehouse environment
  • Familiarity with MDM / CIM concepts and approaches
  • Ability to classify business drivers for company
  • Experience with leading ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) tools / vendors so that the warehouse is populated with timely and accurate data
  • Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects, demonstrate initiative, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to set and enforce standards for data modeling, data warehousing, and data management.

CNC Machinist - Full-Time

COBB Tuning, a high-performance automotive engineering company based in Austin, TX, is looking for a CNC Machinist. Our growing manufacturing division is seeking a detail orientated individual who takes great pride in their work and exceeds our customer's expectations through the quality and precision of the components they produce. They will be joining a small, close-nit team operating modern Mori Seiki and DMG machining centers.

Job Purpose: This is a full-time CNC Machinist position for COBB Tuning in Austin, Texas. Duties will include:

  • Set-up and machining of precision components
  • Editing or creating programs
  • Safely operating CNC turning and milling machines
  • Inspecting first-run and in-process parts
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Maintaining equipment and supplies

Skill Requirements:

  • 2-5 years experience in basic programming, editing, set-up and operating CNC machines for precision parts
  • Experience with 3+ axis CNC Vertical Mills and CNC Lathes with Live Tooling
  • Read and understand GCode/measuring equipment
  • Previous experience with conversational controls - Siemens & FANUC
  • Mastercam experience a plus
  • Solidworks experience a plus
  • CNC Tube Bending experience a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 75 lbs
  • Continuous manual agility required
  • Ability to perform job functions standing up for 6-8 consecutive hours
  • Ability to safely handle toxic materials such as coolant, oil and standard cleaning products

Job Description: Help us maintain the quality that our customers expect by using new features before they are released.

  • Develop test plans and execute test procedures. Document actual test results.
  • Identify, analyze, reproduce and report issues, gather detailed failure information, work with development team to resolve software defects.

Required Qualifications:

Warehouse Clerk - Full-Time

COBB Tuning, a high-performance automotive engineering company based in Austin, TX, is looking for a warehouse shipping and receiving clerk. We are looking for a detail oriented person capable of working in a high-paced work environment. You are the last person in line to our customers and will need to ensure our customers get exactly what they ordered, shipped as they requested, so we can continue astonish our customers.

Job Purpose:

This is a full-time warehouse shipping and receiving clerk position for COBB Tuning in Austin, Texas. Duties will include: receiving, checking counts and QC'ing in-bound packages, pulling and packaging outbound shipments, cleaning and organizing work stations in preparation for the next day's workload, organizing, sweeping, and cleaning warehouse aisles, and assisting with cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Able to lift 60 lbs
  • Able to operate stand-up and/or standard forklift (having a current forklift certification is ideal)
  • Willing to work some Saturdays as needed and willing to work flexible schedule that may include some overtime during our busy season.
  • PC computer skills, shipping software (FedEx, UPS, UPSP) familiarity needed

Compensation: Pay Rate is $12.50/hr. Cobb offers a generous benefits package to full time employees.  All new employees must pass a background check which will include a credit check as well as a drug test.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Shop performance evaluation and reporting: Use available accounting resources to analyze and evaluate shop performance and refine activities and procedures to maximize efficiency and promote customer satisfaction and loyalty. Quantitative and qualitative weekly and monthly and quarterly reporting for shop performance.
  2. Employee resource management, evaluation and reporting: Use available accounting resources to quantitatively assess employee performance. Together with qualitative evaluations help direct employ activities and attitudes to maximize productivity, profitability, while maintaining a comfortable working environment. Help resolve employee conflicts or work related problems to maintain a comfortable work environment. Quarterly reporting and employee evaluation and reporting to COBB consumer group retail manager. General recommendations for salary adjustments as needed. Interview prospective new employees as needed. Recommend termination for employees not able to perform and unable to reform. In some cases this will indicate termination of employees. Oversee employee training as needed. Enforce policy and procedures found in COBB employee manual
  3. Manage workflow: Coordinate retail, installation/mechanical, and tuning staff resources to initiate and complete customer projects in a timely and profitable manner.
  4. Manage parts resources: Coordinate the purchase and delivery of mechanical components needed to complete customer projects.
  5. Promote and coordinate R&D activities: All COBB retail facilities must integrate calibration and other work to promote the creation, maintenance, and refinement of COBB Tuning products. These activities must be completed in a timely fashion as their cost appropriately recorded and reported.
  6. Marketing oversight: Assist in the promotion of the COBB retail facility in partnership with local and central COBB sales and marketing staff using qualitative and quantitative assessments of shop performance and local market needs. Oversee and coordinate local activities promoting the COBB retail location. IE, first Thursdays meet cars and coffee meets, etc. - Promote customer loyalty
