This C.A.R.B. approved intake and integrated airbox looks great and has the combined benefits of a short ram intake and a cold air intake without any of the negatives.
This system utilizes several unique features in an effort to maintain optimal flow for performance while minimizing turbulence that can cause engine management problems. From a custom conical cloth air-filter element, we use a CFD-designed velocity stack leading to an unique air flow straightener grid. This straightener grid is specifically designed to smooth the incoming air flow as it passes the Mass Air Flow sensor for precise readings. This eliminates the "dead spots" experienced by other aftermarket intakes due to turbulence. No other aftermarket Subaru intake system utilizes these critical design elements.
In order to provide a system that looks as good on the outside as the technical advancements happening on the inside, we utilize a one piece design constructed from a high temperature plastic composite. Not only does this save weight compared to the previous metal design, the plastic composite material offers much better heat rejection properties that help keep intake air temperatures cooler. In contrast, intake systems constructed using metal castings or piping can actually retain underhood heat and in turn heat the incoming air.
The SF Air Box adds the benefits of a cold air intake to the outstanding performance of the SF Intake. The factory inlet directs cold air from the front grill to the SF Air, which encloses the SF intake. Hot engine bay air that robs horsepower is prevented from entering the intake system. This unique design also separates rainwater from the intake air, eliminating the water ingestion issues that plague in-fender cold air intakes.

Great performace additionIt was a straight forward install. It took me a couple hours because of the 100% humidity here in FL. I spent a lot of time wiping the sweat out of my eyes and drinking tons of water. I couldn't believe the size of the old filter assembly. What the heck is the big plastic jug on the old one used for? Anyways, this shing makes a pretty awesome sound when you're getting on it, but is silent when your not. I think it is worth it.

Awesome Product and Customer ServiceLike always, Cobb has absolutely amazing customer service with all of their products. After receiving this in the mail, I noticed that the MAF bracket was missing so I gave them a call and they had it overnight shipped, no questions asked with a nice apology.
The overall install of this was under a hour with no problems at all, the youtube install video is pretty good for step by step directions. After install and new map tuned through the AP (YES, you absolutely have to tune your vehicle after installing this) you can definitely feel a little bit of gains over just a regular stage 1 map. And like everyone else has stated, it sounds absolutely amazing when driving - i rarely even have the stereo on when i am driving now :).
I do feel it is really important to mention that with the 08-14 WRX models(not STI) - everyone should really get familiar with the boost leak issues that may incur when upgrading boost levels above stock. The 08-14 stock intercooler, bpv and intercooler to throttle bottle hose have all been known to have issues, even some strait from the factory. All of these have been talked about on all the wrx forums, so do your research and possibly be prepared to have to put in some extra wrench time.
My suggestion to anyone that is just starting off is to just install the AP first and run some date logs and send them to the Cobb guys for analysis - just to make sure you are running good numbers from the begging and then go from there with the install of the Sf Intake. Cobb's tech support is always really good about telling you what you need to know so dont hesitate to ask questions.

Best Intake Around, Great Fitment & Performance, Awesome Sound.Installed on my 2015 WRX STI, Install of any intake is really simple but Cobb's instructions were very easy to follow. The stock MAF sensor, bracket, nuts/bolts fit flawlessly and all air connections are definitely air tight. Installed in about 30 minutes, tuned the car with the available OTS map on Cobb's website (93 Oct , SF, Normal Wastegate), and off to the races! Thing sounds like a jet plane when you barely even hit boost, the sound of the wastegate is much more prominent as most could figure. As for power gains there is a noticeable difference but I haven't compared my data yet to check. To anyone else that has a 2015, This does remove the stock intake tube that goes into the cabin and you don't have to do anything after its removed. I'm not a fan of CAI due to the pain of getting to the filter so Cobb's SF intake is a dream come true, Thanks Cobb!!!

Awesome Product - 2015 STIPrior to installing the intake the car was 100% stock. Installation is super easy (30 mins) and requires only the simplest of tools. After installation I downloaded the 15 STI 91+map from the website and uploaded it to the car. I highly recommend this combo to anyone feeling like the car deserves a bit more power. I was surprised to find the car pulls noticeably harder and sounds amazing. The intake is loud so if you don't want to hear the turbo/wastegate keep the stock intake and just flash to stage 1. I went 91 tune although I run 93 octane to stay on the slightly safer side. Great products!

so soI was really excited to purchase this mod, but became frustrated when following the online tutorial, and finding out that apparently my air box did not come with enough of the rubber edge, and it left me wondering why that can't simply come already on the air box instead of rigged up way of cutting the edges to make it fit, just to discover there wasn't even enough supplied to cover all the edges the video said to. I know most people may like how it sounds and I might have about 6 years ago but now its a little much for an everyday driver. overall not impressed, I'm going to give it a week or so and then probably re instal the stock intake

Great sound, DEFINITELY requires tuning!!Installed this intake within about 20 minutes, super easy! Need just an 8mm, 10mm sockets & ratchet, and philips screwdriver. Looks clean. It's C.A.R.B. legal, which is great for me in CA. Like it states in the product info-NEEDS TUNING!! Just ordered the Accessport to compliment this. Car hesitates WOT near 5,000rpm, but Cobb states you need a tune! All in all, 5 stars and worth the price/legality/cleanliness!! Going to perform a ECU relearn, which might take care of it. But still want the AP for all the other features.

Painless install, great resultsAfter reading about this intake on forums and in reviews I knew that it was going to be quality and fit my needs perfectly. After watching how-to videos I knew it was going to be easy and straightforward to install. What I didn't expect was just how easy it would be to install (I'm far from skilled with a wrench) and how much I would enjoy the results. Cobb fitment of their products is second to none which made the install a breeze and with a quick reflash of the ECU with the Accessport I was off cruising around and enjoying the fruits of my labor. If you take your time and do it right the whole process will still take you less than 30 minutes.

Awesomely intake but it really needs the Cobb airbox!Just installed this on my 2015 STI w/ the Stage 1+SF ACN91 and I must say it has more pep in its step. Without telling box the AIT's get pretty hot. I live by the beach and it was only 70 out. I was in the drive thru for only 5 minutes and the AIT's got to 175! No good! Cobb please release the airbox now! Thanks!
