Added TSB ROM Support – USDM 2016 Focus ST

Ford has recently issued a TSB for select 2015-2016 Mustang EcoBoost and 2016 Focus ST vehicles. The TSB, titled ‘TSB 15-0192 GASOLINE TURBOCHARGED DIRECT INJECTION (GTDI) – EXCESSIVE EXHAUST SMOKE AFTER EXTENDED IDLE‘, instructs the Ford dealer to perform a replacement of the crankcase vent oil separator. Ford also updates the car’s engine control unit (ECU) with their latest calibration.
We have added support for Ford’s new ECU type being flashed to cars during this process. This includes new Accessport firmware, Accesstuner software, and off-the-shelf (OTS) maps (v210 or later). This is now available on the AP3-FOR-001 Accessport part number for all 2016 USDM Focus STs.  Visit the Ford ECU TSB Info FAQ page for more details.

Ford Focus RS: Enable Dyno Mode (2WD)
An Accessport adjustment to engage 2WD Dyno Mode for Ford Focus RS has been added.  This is available on all AP3-FOR-004 Accessports and allows the user to properly setup the Focus RS for the dyno without disconnecting the Rear Diff Unit (RDU).
To enable this feature, go to  “Tune” → “Adjustments” → “Enable Dyno Mode (2WD)” shown below.

COBB Custom Features (CCF) – Accessport Adjustments

Several custom features are now user adjustable through the Accessport for all EcoBoost Mustangs, Focus STs, and Fiesta STs.  These adjustments include changing map slots, turning custom traction control on/off, and adjusting the amount of slip the custom traction control enables.  These adjustments can be found in the “Tune” → “Adjustments” → then select which CCF you’d like to adjust shown below.

It’s important to note that CCF Accessport Adjustment feature is dependent on the calibration file being used. The Traction Control feature must be enabled via custom tune. Map switching must be enabled via custom tune, or in some cases the OTS map may have the feature enabled. Visit the Map Notes for your vehicle on more details on whether your OTS map contains adjustable map slots.

  1. Happy Thanksgiving Cobb!! Any updates on the RS’ new features like the flat floor shifting, launch control, and map switching on the fly?
    Thanks for everything you do!
    James

    • Hey James! We’ve made great progress on the new custom features for the Focus RS. The software is currently in testing and will likely be available the first week of January.

    • Hey George, we do not currently have an ETA for the Focus RS cat-back exhaust. Sorry for the bad news!

      Marshall@COBB

    • We are working on adding support for the newest Focus ST ROMs. No ETA quite yet, but should be relatively soon!

    • We do not have any official plans to support the new Raptor however it is indeed VERY tempting.

    • Hey there! Beta Accessport firmware is generally hosted for adding new vehicle ROM support or addressing small bugs. We encourage customers to use the release firmware unless instructed by Customer Service.

  2. Any chance Cobb will offer a turbo upgrade package for the 2016 Mustang EcoBoost for a step up from the current Stage 3 package? I love the Stage 3 setup on my car, but I’m sure there’s more than a few of us who would love a turbo upgrade that integrates with the existing Cobb stage packages.

    • Hey Daniel,

We don’t currently have anything in the works for turbo upgrades on the EcoBoost Mustang. If we ever did have an offering it would be a long ways down the road. There are a few companies out there that do have turbo upgrades for these cars, all of which can be custom tuned for via your Accessport!
