History of the Toyota Tundra

Introduced in 1999 as a 2000 model year to replace the T100, the Toyota Tundra became the first full-size pickup truck built by a Japanese automaker in North America. Its first generation (2000–2006) offered a refined V8 engine and earned Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year award, though it was slightly smaller than its American rivals. The second generation (2007–2021) substantially increased the truck’s dimensions, towing capacity, and frame strength, introducing a 5.7-liter V8 engine to compete directly with American full-size trucks. For its third generation (2022–present), Toyota fully redesigned the Tundra onto a modern platform, replacing the long-running V8 engine with a standard twin-turbocharged V6 and an optional i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain.

Why Choose COBB for Your Toyota Tundra Mods

The COBB Tuning Accessport provides full ECU flashing support for the 2022+ Toyota Tundra. Plugging directly into the truck’s OBD2 port, the handheld tuner unlocks hidden performance from the twin-turbo V6 powertrain by replacing conservative factory calibrations with aggressive Off-The-Shelf (OTS) performance maps. Drivers can easily switch between multiple performance calibrations, monitor real-time engine parameters on a full-color multi-gauge display, read and clear trouble codes, and seamlessly revert the vehicle back to its stock ECU configuration at any time.
