Description

Designed using CAD technology, the COBB Blue anodized billet shifter body is CNC machined from 6061 Aluminum. Like our original design, the shift throw distance and shift knob height are independently adjustable and both can easily be adjusted with the shifter installed in the vehicle. Steel socket head screws are set in a counter bore for a flush mount and provide clamping force to firmly hold the upper and lower slider shafts in place. This design allows easy independent adjustment of shift knob height and shifter throw length, while being strong enough to stand up to rowing through the gears with extreme enthusiasm. Compatible with the factory shift knob or any aftermarket knobs designed to replace the factory unit. -Knob Height - 1" higher to 1" lower -Throw - 10% longer to 25% shorter after cutting the trim ring

Why?

Our revolutionary Double Adjustable Shifter ushers in a new generation of adjustability for one of the most critical links from driver to car, with the ability to control both the height of the shift knob as well as the length of the shifter throw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just a good solid product. 2007 Subaru STi Limited. Easy install, solid product, bottom line, I installed it without modifications and works great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the adjustability Just installed today on my 2016 STI and am really enjoying it. You do however need to tie up the reverse lockout cable to keep it from rubbing on the drive shaft. Very high quality, better feel than stock and wish it was visible because it looks cool awesome! Bushings are next. Thanks Cobb

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice fit Just installed this last night, as the completion of phase 2 (Stage 2+) of my Stage 3 new-to-DIY adventures. So far so good, though I it is certainly a new feel (very crisp, due to the front and rear bushing upgrade). A few tips I figured out the hard way: 1) I found that holding the lockout cable in place using the holes/allen key was not reliable, particularly with a bit of movement on the cable from within the car. I eventually held it in position by inserting a 1/2 inch dowel after moving the cam as far as possible. This gave me lots of slack to work with. 2) Feeding the lockout cable up the shifter is easier before the shifter is bolted into place. 3) I had a bugger of a time threading the pin into the holes and through the eye in the cable end. After losing the pin once (they right diameter is available at NAPA, though slightly shorter than stock) I figured out a trick of feeding a wire through the holes and then into the pin. This then guides the pin nicely. Went in very, very easily this way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality part, works perfectly This is a great way to improve the shifting feel in the STi. The factory (non short throw) shifter was too cumbersome. The install was pretty easy other than the dreaded reverse lockout cable. That thing is a pain but thats a Subaru issue not a Cobb issue. I highly recommend getting the Perrin reverse lockout which secures the reverse lockout cable with a screw rather than a cheap pin. It works very nicely with this shifter.
