AccessPORT Racers Spotlight: Takata Time Attack/LIC Motorsports Subaru STI

In addition to the COBB Tuning Motorsports effort, COBB Tuning continues to support independent race teams in both the Redline Time Attack and other racing series. The Takata Time Attack/LIC Motorsports Subaru STI competes in the AWD Modified Class in the Redline Time Attack Series. This car is a highly-modified machine that sets the standard for race-car preparation with it’s flawless attention to detail. This car was prepared in just two months. The week before the event, the car was in Portland, Oregon being tuned at COBB Tuning Surgeline by Subaru tuning guru, Tim Bailey, lead calibrator for COBB Tuning.

With just days to go before the event, the car was put back on the trailer and driven to the track, but not before a quick stop was made to apply the stunning Takata Time Attack graphics.

“Because of our tight schedule, driver James Elterman did not have an opportunity to test the car prior to the event” said LIC Motorsports manager Noah Levy. “We were impressed by how quickly James adapted to the car and was running fast laps.”

The Takata Time Attack/LIC Motorsports team was rewarded with a 2nd Place finish in the AWD Modified Class. They were also able to score a win in the wheel to wheel Super Session race when the COBB Tuning Motorsports GT-R of Brian Lock was forced to retire due to mechanical issues.

The Takata Time Attack/LIC Motorsports team will rejoin the Redline Time Attack series when it comes back to the west coast for the Las Vegas event on April 23-25.
