Accessport Tuning for 2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Now Available
COBB is excited to announce support with the Accessport and select Power Packages that maximize the potential for your Mustang EcoBoost! The appropriate Off The Shelf maps are included with these packages in addition to other Mustang aftermarket parts. Custom ECU tuning is available through a Protuner and COBB Custom Features are also available!
Note that there is a significant difference in capability between the 2022 High Performance Package and other EcoBoost Mustangs. Those vehicles have off the shelf maps with specific changes for their differences.
Newly added support covers:
2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Active Exhaust AT USDM
2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Active Exhaust MT USDM
2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost AT USDM
2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost MT USDM
2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost HPP AT USDM
2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost HPP MT USDM
Each of the COBB Staged Power Packages with the Off The Shelf maps are detailed below.
Mustang EcoBoost Power Packages
Stage 1 Power Package
The Stage 1 Power Package combines the world’s best selling, most flexible ECU upgrade solution along with a high flow intake panel filter. The Accessport and panel filter make for the easiest of installs which can be done in minutes with basic hand tools. Once the filter is in place, simply flash the Stage 1 map for your octane fuel and be on your way! The Stage 1 Off The Shelf map calibration offers decent gains and allows datalogging/monitoring.
Stage 2
Stage 2 for the 2022 Mustang EcoBoost is the best second level for the Ecoboost powered vehicle. During exhaustive testing, the COBB engineers found that heat, not necessarily airflow, was the biggest restriction to power on the platform. As such, they created a larger COBB Front Mount Intercooler. This setup cools temps as much as 100 degrees and produces significant power. Everything is tuned right out of the box with the Accessport and Stage 2 Off the Shelf maps!

EcoBoost Mustang Custom Features
When drag racing, effective launch control features are a must-have to get the best jump off the line. The ease of use and simple adjustability go a long way toward providing the best chance for the driver to get the most out of the car at the beginning of a pass where it matters most. Transbrake for automatic cars and launch control for manual cars do just that.
Transbrake
A Transbrake is a drag racing feature for automatic cars that holds the car in one spot while getting ready to launch but doesn’t actually use the normal brakes at the wheels. The transmission for an automatic 2021 Mustang can be programmed via the Accessport to apply line pressure to the clutch packs in the transmission to both the first and the reverse gear at the same time. This allows the car stays put even when you’re not holding the brake while the engine revs up.
The idea of a transbrake isn’t anything new but historically it was applied as an aftermarket modification that required physical changes to the car by using aftermarket valve bodies. In this case, it’s all done with the Accessport and the stock transmission. No wrenches required!
Using the feature is incredibly easy. Once activated in the “Tune” then “Adjustments” menu on the Accessport, all the driver needs to do is come to a stop. Hold the left paddle on the steering wheel, let go of the brake, and apply the throttle. Once the engine revs and builds boost, just let go and let her rip!
Bump and Creep
The chess match when staging is a big part of competitive racing. The ability to ease the car into the beams at the right time is an important advantage. We’ve provided two options for inching the car forward into the beams while on the transbrake.
While still holding the left paddle, just give the paddle on the right side a squeeze and the car will either bump or creep forward as needed.
You can change the setting between each style at any time in a matter of seconds by using the adjustments menu on the Accessport. Bumping the car is typically more aggressive and a little harder to precisely control. For low to medium power cars, it’s still a good option. Creeping more smoothly rolls the car forward which can be the preferred method.
Not only can you alternate your preferred option, but the Accessport also allows you to adjust the Clutch Pressure Offset right on the device. How much power the car makes and what kind of load is being targeted while on the transbrake will affect the behavior during these features. Being able to easily tweak line pressure and load target makes sure that the car will move at just the right speed for your setup when trying to stage.
Safety First
You can’t win races from the trailer or in the shop. It’s common sense that launching a car on boost is rough on the powertrain. Luckily the car has plenty of sensors to monitor to allow the driver to keep an eye on potential danger, and even better, the Accessport can do most of the protection for you.
We’ve built in a nice set of live monitors that will either prevent the use of or shut down the transbrake/launching features if certain conditions are not met or are dangerously exceeded.
Each of these parameters can be monitored on the Accessport and the specific thresholds or values can be adjusted for each tune within Accesstuner.
There is even a live monitor on the Accessport gauges that will display a code for the exact reason that the transbrake feature was disabled for safety so you always know what may be an issue. (see below)
Launch Control
If you’re a purist that prefers to row the gears on your own, don’t worry. We didn’t forget about you!
Along with the 10R80 features for launching an auto car, we’ve added Launch Control and Flat Foot Shifting for the 2022 Manual EcoBoost Mustangs as well. They work identically to previous models. Also included are the convenient adjustable menus to quickly change the RPM setting for either feature on the fly as well as custom per gear adjustments for tuning in our Accesstuner software.

With the release of the Accessport for the 22 Ecoboost Mustang will the 21+ F150 Accessport be far behind?
2021+ 3.5L F-150 support is not too far behind! Hoping to have that wrapped up before end of the year.
