COBB AccessPORT for Turbo Mazda3/6 Goes Global, New PURE Boost OTS Maps and More!

COBB Tuning is proud to announce the latest AccessPORT and AccessTUNER software updates for the MAZDASPEED platform. This release includes Beta AccessPORT support for World Market turbocharged Mazda3 and Mazda6 vehicles, our latest offering of PURE Boost Off-The-Shelf Maps for all supported vehicles, AccessTUNER Pro and Race support of World Market vehicles and a few other AccessTUNER enhancements. Read on to learn more about these exciting new features and how COBB Tuning is keeping the AccessPORT at the forefront of MAZDASPEED engine management!

AccessPORT
World Market Beta Support – The AccessPORT now has beta support for World Market MAZDASPEED vehicles. The entire list of vehicles supported includes:

  • 2007-2012 MAZDASPEED3
  • 2006-2007 MAZDASPEED6
  • 2007-2012 MAZDASPEED Axela
  • 2004-2006 MAZDASPEED Atenza
  • 2007-2012 Mazda3 MPS
  • 2004-2006 Mazda6 MPS

Please note that while in beta, some new World Market users may encounter Vehicle Identification issues when first attempting to install. This means that the ECU in your vehicle has not yet been added to firmware. If this should occur, simply follow this Instructions for Dumping an Unrecogonized ROM guide. This process explains how to use the AccessPORT to pull the ROM from your ECU and how to email it to COBB engineers to add support for your vehicle.

It will take up to 3 days to evaluate your ROM, at which time you will be notified how long it will take to support your ROM. Most ROMs will be added to the firmware within 5 business days after evaluation is complete. However, some ROMs may take up to 2 months to support. If you are unwilling to wait for your ROM to be added to the firmware, you may return your AccessPORT, however, return policies differ by dealer. Please discuss your dealer’s return policy with your dealer prior to purchasing the AccessPORT, or, purchase your AccessPORT directly from COBB Tuning to guarantee that you can return your AccessPORT.

PURE Boost – PURE Boost is the latest boost-based tuning logic that has been incorporated into the v2.31 Off-The-Shelf Maps in the MAZDASPEED AccessPORT Map Database. The PURE Boost tuning strategy eliminates all variables in the factory based load targeting systems. By taking complete control of the wastegate, these maps hit consistent boost levels and provide smoother power delivery. The v2.31 PURE Boost Off-The-Shelf Maps also include Dynamic Load Scaling, Launch Control, Flat Foot Shifting and Enhanced High Speed Datalogging.

These latest free Off-The-Shelf Maps support 16 different intakes, with 242 maps available for US and World Market MAZDASPEED3 vehicles and 226 maps available for US and World Market MAZDASPEED6 vehicles!

Firmware Update – Any AP-MAZ-002 AccessPORT can be updated to support World Market vehicles and automatically add new v2.31 Pure Boost maps for the stock intake and the COBB SF Intake via a firmware update. AccessTUNER
World Market Beta Support – Both AccessTUNER Pro and AccessTUNER Race have been updated to support World Market vehicles. In addition to the AccessPORT, World Market vehicle owners also have the ability to customize the tune for their own vehicles, or visit one of the many COBB Pro-Tuners around the world for a professional dyno tune.

Alternate Throttle Targeting for WGDC/Boost Targets Toggle – This new toggle allows for the alternate targeting of the load axis for WGDC/Boost. This is helpful for high power builds that are running into wastegate control issues above 80% Injector Duty Cycle. The only time this issue is present is during Load Based Tuning. This toggle is not needed if the PURE Boost tuning strategy is being used.

Flat Foot Shift Bug Fix – The lastest AccessTUNER update resolves the non-functional Flat Foot Shifting issue that affected the 2010 USDM MAZDASPEED3 in the previous version of AccessTUNER.

Get AccessTUNER Updates – To acquire your free copy of AccessTUNER Race software, please visit the COBB AccessTUNER Race page to read more about the software, then follow the link to the AccessTUNER Race Download Request Form. Once the form is filled out and submitted you will receive an email with a link to download your free copy of AccessTUNER Race.

For existing AccessTUNER Race users, simply open the software, click Help > Updates > Check for Updates.

  1. Just flashed the Stage 1 v2.31 on my 2011 MS3 and I must say Im very impressed with how much smoother the power delivery is. I havent had time to test it out other than a drive to work, but so far it seems far improved from the load targeting system!
