Accesstuner Pro Updates

Subaru Accesstuner version 1.9.1.0-14336 and newer will include the features outline below.

COBB Custom Features (CCF) ECU Type

Supported vehicles will now have an additional Tuning Strategy available in the ECU Selection Dialogue box.  The CCF ECU type is only applicable to V3 Accessports.

Extended Monitor Logging Feature

During development of COBB Custom Features such as Flex Fuel our calibration team noted that data logging with the added monitors was not possible due to native ECU limitations.  Our software team was able to make changes to how monitors are referenced which allows users to log additional monitors with zero to minimal impact on resolution.  Depending on monitors selected, users may be able to log up to double the number of monitors allowed previously.

Additional Tables for 2002-2005 WRX

The tables below have been added to both the MAF and Speed Density ECU types for the 2002-2005 Subaru Impreza WRX.

  • Boost Limits (Fuel Cut) Delay
  • Fuel Injector End of Injection (Beta)
  • Idle Control Valve Duty Final Limit (Min/Max)
  • Ignition Coil Dwell
  • Overrun Fuel Resume/Cut Thresholds, Delay, and Initial Enrichment (15 total tables)

Accessport Firmware Updates

The below updates are now available to AP3-SUB-002 Accessports utilizing firmware version 1.7.3.0-14336 and newer.

Note:  COBB Custom Features ECUs are not supported on the Version 2 Accessport!  Do you have a supported WRX or STi with a V2 Accessport?  Take advantage of our Accessport Trade-In Program!

Extended Monitor Logging Feature

Applicable to the 2004-2006 STi CCF ECUs and 2006 WRX CCF ECU, Accessports with updated firmware will now benefit from higher logging resolution and the ability to log additional monitors without greatly reducing resolution.

Additional Monitors

The following monitors were released in a previous version of Accesstuner and are now also available on the Accessport itself.

  • Fuel Cut Flag
  • Ign Comp Tip-in
  • Wall Wetting 1
  • Wall Wetting 1A
  • Wall Wetting 1B
  • Wall Wetting 1C

    • We do not currently have plans to add Flex Fuel support to the 2002-2005 WRX ECUs. Sorry for the bad news!

      Marshall@COBB

        • Yeah, I feel you (I own a 2004 WRX). The early WRXs did receive some new tables as a part of this release however it looks like we may need to look into an STI ECU in order to take advantage of the CCF offering.

    • Hey Gregory,

Our Stage 3 Power Packages for Subaru are currently on back-order as we transition into using the new 1050x fuel injector. We are currently waiting on our calibration team to complete the generation of new Off The Shelf maps compatible with the 1050x fuel injectors. A current alternative would be to order the parts and have an Authorized Protuner create a custom tune for you. If you are willing to wait a bit longer, the OTS maps should be available this summer.

    • We do not officially have plans to offer Flex Fuel for the Legacy GT however it has been discussed internally. If demand is constant, we very well may look into it!

      Marshall@COBB

      • That would rock! I know a bunch of LGT owners are very interested. Where I live its hard to get a constant supply of E85(harder to even get true E85) so the flex has a lot of appeal.

  1. Absolutely fantastic news! Been waiting on this since late summer last year, so I can’t wait to get this on my 2007 STi. I know 2007 was a unique model year in several ways, but I’m curious why it has its own kit, separate from the other GD STi models. Is the 3 pin vs 5 pin connector the only reason, or are there other changes as well?

    • Hey Justin! You hit the nail on the head. The only difference for the 2007 STI kit is the use of 5-pin connectors whereas other GD vehicles use a 3-pin connector.

      Marshall@COBB

  2. Im not sure if this update applies, but is it possible to datalog a wideband sensor through a APv3 on a 02 WRX?

    • We do not offer a direct plug and play solution for that however many people do utilize a 5v input to log wideband voltage and then translate that into AFR through logging software (or if you’re quick, on the fly).

      Marshall@COBB

  3. I’m not sure if this has been answered but here it goes, I have a 06 Wrx and am looking into your flex fuel kit I see that the kit dosnt include injectors or a pump is that because they kept the same size injectors from the previous model along with the smaller turbo for the 2.5? Or will I need bigger injectors and a fuel pump as well as what’s also in the kit

    • Hello,

That is a good question. We would like to have a full kit in the future for that year model but we currently don’t have a compatible fuel line option. As you’ve probably seen on the website. We do have the Flex Fuel kit with the sensors, and we have upgraded injectors. Those are an absolute must to run ethanol. Technically the stock rails and fuel lines will fit with those parts, but considering the age of the car and the fact it wasn’t designed for ethanol from the factory. I would recommend upgrading the rails, lines, and pump as well. The rails for the 2008+ STI will also work on your WRX, our part number is 343150 https://www.cobbtuning.com/products/fuel-system/subaru-fuel-rails-sti-2008-2019.

So even though we do not have an official kit/package yet. We have everything you need other than the lines. So if you buy our FF kit, our rails, the AEM pump, and our injectors. You just need to work with a shop or check with IAG Performance to provide ethanol safe fuel lines and that should do the job.
