Texas 2K12, the playground for high dollar, high horsepower supercars, returned once again attracting car enthusiasts from all over the country. The three day event held at Hennessey Performance’s Sealy, TX facility brought in thousands of people and their toys. “If it’s fast, it’s probably out here”, said Tony Palo, owner and tuner of T1 Race Development.

Texas 2K originally started as a National Supra gathering and has evolved throughout the years to show off some of the most exotic sports cars, including the Toyota Supra, the Nissan GT-R, the Ford GT, Lamborghinis, Porsches and many more. “The cars at this event produce anywhere between 500-1500 wheel horsepower and a few are even above that!” said Chris Johnson, COBB Tuning’s R&D Fabricator. Chris and several other COBB Tuning reps attended the event and brought along COBB’s Motorsports GT-R and a 2012 R&D GT-R. They made themselves available to speak with shops and customers to answer questions and discuss the availability and benefits of COBB products in the high horsepower world of the Nissan GT-R. “COBB is really well known in the small turbo engine market like Subaru, Mazda, and Mitsubishi. But many may not realize that the AccessPORT is, by far, the most widely used tuning solution for Nissan GT-R’s, including the big-power GT-R builds that are breaking records around the world”, said Chris.

To produce this kind of horsepower, tuning is everything. “It’s one of the most integral pieces that allows you to make that kind of power” said Chris. Tuning options for vehicles as electronically advanced as the GT-R are few and far between, but the AccessPORT’s consistent results, continued development, and popularity of use has made it the leading tuning solution. We caught up with Tony Palo and 2010 GT-R owner/driver Reza Koranki to discuss their experiences tuning their GT-Rs with COBB’s AccessPORT. Check out the video below to see what they had to say.
