Ford Mustang EcoBoost Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3 Power Packages Now Available
The 2015 Mustang EcoBoost was an exciting platform when it first debuted for the 2015 model year. Since then, COBB has come a long way in the research and development process. Initial support started with a tune using the Accessport. This introduced awesome custom features such as Launch Control and 5-Way Map Switching along with providing significant power gains over the factory calibration. Unfortunately the factory components just weren’t cutting it for additional power gains. Factory components are now a thing of the past! Today, we’re excited to announce the release of our full Stage 2 and Stage 3 Power Packages that maximize the potential for your Mustang EcoBoost! Let’s take a look at each COBB Power Package available for the Mustang EcoBoost.
Stage 1 Power Package
The Stage 1 Power Package combines the world’s best selling, most flexible ECU upgrade solution along with a high flow intake panel filter. The Accessport and panel filter make for the easiest of installs which can be done in minutes with basic hand tools. Once the filter is in place, simply flash the Stage 1 map for your octane fuel and be on your way! The Stage 1 Off The Shelf map calibration offers decent gains and enables COBB Custom Features like 5 way map switching, Launch Control, and Flat Foot Shifting.

Stage 2 Power Package
The Stage 2 Power Package for the Mustang EcoBoost is the best second level for the Ecoboost powered vehicle. During exhaustive testing, the COBB engineers found that heat, not necessarily airflow, was the biggest restriction to power on the platform. As such, they married a larger COBB Front Mount Intercooler to our 3″ mandrel bent aluminum intake kit. This setup cools temps as much as 100 degrees and produces significant power. Everything is tuned right out of the box with the Accessport and Stage 2 Off the Shelf maps!

Stage 3 Power Package
The Stage 3 Power Package is the most comprehensive upgrade available for your Mustang EcoBoost. In addition to the COBB FMIC and Intake from the Stage 2 Package, it also includes the full COBB Turboback Exhaust. The turboback exhaust includes the COBB 3″ Downpipe and mates to the COBB 3″ Cat-Back creating a full 3″ exhaust from the EcoBoost’s turbocharger all the way through the COBB stamped mufflers. The complete package keeps air cool providing consistent power delivery and reduces back pressure allowing more power to be made. This all works with the Accessport Stage 3 Off The Shelf Map!

Hi, I’ve got stage2 on my ’16 Ecoboost Mustang and love it. The AP3 product & MAPs are really outstanding. But is COBB planning to offer a high performance bypass valve like you have for WRXs’? I’m concerned that the factory valve may be leaking under the higher more sustained boost of stage2. Thanks.
Hey there, we do not currently have plans to develop an upgraded bypass valve. Luckily, there are already others available if you’re beyond the limits of the factory unit.

WHEN I CLICK ON STAGE 3 PACKAGE THERE IS A ERROR MESSAGE, IS THE STAGE 3 MAP NOT AVAILABLE?
Hi Ivan,
Correct. That map is no longer available. Sorry for the bad news.

Hi Kyle, why is stage 3 not available anymore? I have it and I am wondering now if I should uninstall it or not. It is not safe anymore?
Hi Alen,
The Stage 3 map is still safe to use. We keep the maps available in firmware and on the website current with our product offerings. Since the Stage 3 Power Package is no longer available, neither is the OTS map.

Help, I cannot connect my accessport to my pc and have lost the original driver disk.
My firmware is v1.7.3.0-16274
I no longer have my original laptop and just bought a tune and just found out I can’t connect my accesport.
Hi James,
What version Accessport do you have? As long as it is a later v2 or v3, you are able to download AP Manager from the website and update your Accessport. That process is outlined here: https://cobbtuning.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PRS/pages/62357749/How+To+Update+Your+AP+s+Firmware

Question. Would it be a bad idea for me to install the stage 2 without upgrading my intercooler from the factory one? I have a 2016 ecoboost premium with the stage 1 installed. I have a cat back exhaust installed by borla and an aluminum intake.
Hi Justin,
Yes. An upgraded FMIC is required for the Stage 2 maps.
Kyle@COBB
i have a 2018 mustang ecoboost and i upgraded the: downpipe, intercooler, charge pipes, exhaust and cold air intake. would that mean i need the stage 3 tune?
Hi Elias,
As it turns out, there is no longer an OTS Stage 3 map. Custom tuning would be required for the car to run properly. Depending on the catalyst in the downpipe you have installed, there may be a permanent check engine light if it is not a GESi cat.

may i know is stage 2 i choose from maps ??
Ik heb een mustang eco van 2017 stage 2. Heel tevreden, 350pk/526newton. Is er nog een dealer in Belgie?
We don’t have many in Europe that carry our Ford product line. The closest I can think of is Motorsport Developments in the UK. Alternatively, you can order direct from us.
