Mazdaspeed3 NexGen Stage 2 Power Packages and Maps
COBB has, and will always strive to be innovators. We don’t just participate, but drive necessary change and lead from the front. With that in mind, we’re proud to release new “NexGen” Power Packages and associated OTS Maps for the Mazdaspeed3 platform.
NexGen Power Packages re-establish the modification and upgrade paths for supported vehicles that have been impacted by the removal of downpipes. These packages provide similar performance and excitement while maintaining legal emissions standards.
These NexGen Stage 2 and Stage 2+ Power Packages and OTS Maps are the next step in the modification path from our existing Stage 1 and Stage 1+ Power Packages and OTS Maps.
All Mazdaspeed3 Power Packages and OTS Maps are emissions compliant, available in 50 states, and have an Executive Order number issued by CARB.

Power Gains
NexGen Stage 2 vs Original Stage 2
You’ll notice that the COBB GESi catted downpipe is no longer apart of the Stage 2 package. It’s a common misconception that these cars can’t make power on the stock downpipe. Check out the dyno chart comparison below. All of the above packages will use the same NexGen Stage 2 Off The Shelf Map.
The above dyno chart compares the old Mazdaspeed3 Stage 2 map to the new NexGen Stage 2 map. As you can see, the gains are very similar with the NexGen map having a bit more peak torque. Even on the stock downpipe and stock cat-back exhaust, not only does the NexGen Stage 2 package and Off The Shelf map make similar power as the previous version, it does with a 50 State Legal, Emissions Compliant and an Executive Order from CARB.
We’re looking forward to releasing additional NexGen maps and packages for other platforms in the near future. Stay tuned…
Will the Cobb team be producing a NexGen set up for the VA Chassis STIs? Since the removal of downpipes I have been nervous about even purchasing a catted downpipe as I am unsure if that would work with a custom tune. can you provide insight?
Hi Anthony,
We’re looking to release something very soon! As for the custom tuning, you should be able to accomplish your goals but I’d recommend getting with whomever you plan on having tune the car and making sure they’re able to do what you need done.

It’s good to see that you guys are still pushing for more power while still being legal for emissions.
Hi Christian,
That’s the goal!
Kyle@COBB
You still sale the downpipe, but, no map for it?
Is there going to be a nexgen stage package available for the 2002 WRX?
Hi Lucas,
There isn’t currently anything in the works for those vehicles. Sorry for the bad news.
Kyle@COBB
hi, can i use this for Mazdaspeed 6 2005
Hi Armin,
It is not compatible with that vehicle. Sorry for the bad news.

So have us racers that only intend to use our cars on sanctioned track events been left out to dry? That’s what it seems like. I bought a accessport for my mazdaspeed just to find out that it’s completely useless a month later. Will you at least be offering refunds?
Hi Brandon,
If your Accessport was purchased within the last 30 days, you are able to return it. Out of curiosity, what were you wanting to use the Accessport for that you think you are not able to now?
I’m looking to upgrade to Stage 2, live in NJ, any word on these maps “officially” being approved for road use?
Hey there! Our Mazdaspeed NexGen packages have received an EO and are now 50-state legal.

Hey Caleb, yes – Accessport Manager is *currently* compatible with the following versions of Windows – 8.1, 10; & 11.
