RX-8 AccessPORT is shipping!

After much anticipation, the AccessPORT has been released for the Mazda RX-8.  If there is one thing the RX-8 needs, its a little more umph.  The AccessPORT helps in that department, along with a host of other features such as fuel economy monitors, gauges to monitor your engine (such as coolant temp since the stock gauge doesn’t move until its too late), performance tests (0-60 mph, 1/4 mile) and more.

In addition to our tuning, our AccessTUNER software suite for the RX-8 is now in the hands of capable and talented tuners around the country so that they can help create custom tuning maps for use on the AccessPORT to cover anything from turbocharged and supercharged RX-8s to wild NA setups.  Hopefully now RX-8 tuners and enthusiasts will have one less obstacle in their way when trying to get the most from their cars.

Below is a dyno result from one of our earlier tuning sessions.  We’ll post more finalize results on our website shortly, or you can head over to our forums where some beta testers have posted their own results.

  1. Hi.
Just wondered if there is a date set for european models. I`ve got an 6 MT 2004, installed the Revi intake with air duct and Mazsport ignition soulution. Not sure if I`m gonna buy the interseptor X or wait for Cobb Accessport.

  2. Hi. Can you please tell me if this unit works on Rx8 japanese imports? If so how much is the shipping to MAlta/Europe? Thanks

  3. Hi! Please ignore my earlier e-mail inquiring if you offered a model for USA version RX-8 (I had landed on a euro site when researching available ECU mod tools).

My question now, is do you offer reconditioned units for the RX-8? I am a 55 year old electrical engineer, read all of the reviews on your product, believe it is the best tool out there, but in my cheap (read frugal) manner, I just can’t seem to convince myself to spend $700 for the tool. I have the Auto gearbox and know that with the High Output engine I have (2007 has the same 6-port engine with VFAD & APV as the MT, just rev limited lower), I could exploit the extra power I am now missing out of in that higher rpm band (7,500 to 9,000 rpm)

Another Q, if I may. Does your tool read the “P” codes for the Mazda that the normal OBD II scan tool (i.e. Ross-Tech VagCom) won’t?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Bill Bertelli – 2007 RX-8 enthusiast

  4. I have an SB100 exemption (CA) for a Lotus 7 replica for 2010. Can the RX-8 AccessPORT get rid of the theft protection and whatever else so I can use the stock ECU? Critical for me!
