One of the biggest side effects of increasing power output out of a combustion engine is the extra heat that comes as a byproduct.  This increase is even more evident on turbocharged vehicles.  Factory cooling systems (radiator, thermostat, etc.) are designed to address the heat generated by a mechanically stock vehicle and are usually effective enough with basic bolt-on modifications.  With that said, most of us aren’t just strolling around town in our Stage 3 Subaru STI, we’re out enjoying it at the track or on a spirited weekend drive.  While it may not be a concern at the moment while most of us are still battling the low temperatures of winter, spring and summer are right around the corner.  Don’t get caught out when temperatures begin to climb!  The COBB Subaru Cooling Kit will ensure your WRX or STI is ready to beat the heat.

This cooling package includes everything needed to bump your car’s cooling capacity enough for that peace of mind at your next track day.  A 2-Row CSF Aluminum Radiator boasts a more efficient core, the COBB Radiator Hose Set replaces your tired and fading original hoses, and the COBB 1.1 Bar Coolant Reservoir Cap helps to keep system pressure in check.  Learn more about each component below, and CLICK HERE to purchase the full kit.

CSF 2-Row Subaru Aluminum Radiator

CSF uses new technology packed into a compact two-row design for better cooling capacity without the added weight. More efficient B-tubes have greater surface area for cooling (15% cooling capacity increase in fin technology alone) and a precision multi-louvered fin to increase heat rejection performance and surface area contact. Additionally, this CSF part has more total cooling tubes, and due to the efficient B-Tube shape, airflow through the core is improved as well. These technical features all contribute to improved cooling efficiency over OE-type performance upgrades, as well as other standard “performance” aluminum tanked radiators which are nothing more than aluminum tanks on a traditional stock core.Made in Indonesia in the same factory that produces CSF parts for aftermarket and car line production for several European cars. This part is a much higher level of quality than the typical Chinese factory parts. All CSF radiators come with a two year warranty against defects in craftsmanship.

Radiator Hose Set

Replace your old, dried out factory radiator hoses with the COBB Tuning Silicone Radiator Hoses. Constructed of 3-ply reinforced silicone, these hoses will not only look better but also last longer. Silicone hoses have a higher operating temperature range, making them a must for any car that may see extended periods of aggressive driving or track time. COBB branding is found at both ends of the hose.

Reinforced silicone hoses have a higher temperature operating range, are more resistant to chemical reactions, and maintain their flexibility through a longer lifespan than factory rubber hoses. They happen to look much better, too.

Subaru 1.1 Bar Radiator Cap / Coolant Reservoir Cap

Keep your engine cooler by upgrading to the COBB 1.1 Bar Coolant Reservoir Cap. This higher pressure cap increases the effective boiling temperature of the coolant in your vehicle’s cooling system. The higher temperature allows the cooling system to absorb more heat. The cap increases pressure and does allow temperature to go up about 10 degrees before fluid boils, but does not reduce temperature. Avoiding boiling makes head gasket failure less likely.

Use the 1.1 Bar Coolant Reservoir Cap for the coolant expansion tank which sits atop the intake manifold on every turbocharged Subaru we support.
