COBB Tuning announces the immediate availability of the AccessPORT for the 2010 Subaru Forester XT and 2010 Subaru Legacy GT. Faster!

The AccessPORT provides owners of 2010 Forester XT and Legacy GT vehicles the ability to unlock power hidden within the factory ECU. Performance gains across the entire powerband can be quickly realized in the short time it takes to flash the vehicle’s ECU with the AccessPORT. No tools are required. No additional “piggy-back” hardware. or wiring is required. No mailing the factory ECU across the country. No vehicle downtime. No waiting. Not even a computer is required. Just plug the AccessPORT in, flash the ECU and enjoy the thrill of increased torque and horsepower!

Flashing the ECU for increased performance is just the start of what the AccessPORT is capable of. Set the AccessPORT to Performance mode to capture 0-60MPH times, ¼ Mile times and Trap Speeds. Switch over to Live Data mode and choose a gauge to monitor, such as: coolant temperature, intake air temperature, throttle position, intake cam advance, exhaust cam retard, MAF voltage, injector pulse width and many more. Configure a shift light that flashes the screen when a user defined rpm is reached. Select the integrated Data Logger to record multiple channels of data simultaneously. Go to Troubleshooting mode to diagnose issues by reading the factory codes and resetting the system once the issues have been resolved.

The AccessPORT can be used to eliminate separation anxiety for those times when you are away from your car. Protect your investment when out on the town by quickly loading the Valet map to prevent the engine from revving above 3,200 rpm. Load the Anti-Theft map when you park to make it impossible to start. In the event the car must be returned to the stock configuration, the AccessPORT can be completely removed and the ECU restored to its factory condition.

  1. I own a Legacy 2010 with a 2.5 turbo engine ( 265 HP ) that has an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISION, will this Accessport allow to to reach those extra hp, or will the A/T interfere
Will i need anything else besides the ACCESSport

    • Is this a USDM car? Currently we only support the manual transmission cars since the Legacy GT is only available as a manual. Do you have an Outback XT?

  2. The Legacy 2.5GT sold outside of the US is an automatic. There is also the wagon version of the car, which is exactly the same car mechanically.

Does the Cobb Accessport still work?

I assume since it was made for the manual that you’re not changing any of the auto shift codes and thus, while it might not have a shift upgrade, should still benefit from the turbo pressure increase.

I’m also looking for a stage 1 improvement and the benefit of being able to change the behavior of the car when I want.

    Thanks

    • Zach, thank you for your question. The AccessPORT is only compatible with USDM Subaru vehicles at this time. Cars sold outside of the United States will not be able to install the AccessPORT on their vehicles as they have a different ECU than their US counterparts. While these vehicles are mechanically very similar, it is the ECU that we are concerned with most as it determines if we can tune a car or not. At this time, we are only offering the AccessPORT for USDM Subarus.

  3. OK, is the Access port the only thing to accomplish the results shown on the chart above? How easy is the installation?

    • Installation is very easy, just plug the AccessPORT into the OBDII port and follow the install instructions on the screen. There is no wiring, cutting or wrenching required! The AccessPORT was the only thing used to make those power figures. All it takes is a little bit of tuning and you can make some very impressive gains!

  4. I have 2010 Legacy 2.5GT, and I am very interested of your AccessPort. Do I need to mod my car before use this product? I used to do some mods by myself but I never touch the computer before, do I need any technician do the job for me? And also if I installed the AccessPort already, can I still mod my car? or I need to reinstall the AccessPort again? Can I update the AccessPort, Thanks so much for you to reply my mail.

    • The AccessPORT can be used on stock and modified cars alike. We refer to a stock reflash as “stage1”. This just optimizes your stock configuration with a little more boost, and fueling and timing changes. The AccessPORT can be installed by you in your driveway in just minutes. You just plug the unit into your OBDII port and hit “install” and it does the rest. No cutting, wiring or modification needed. You will make horsepower even with a stock car. Then, as you add modifications you just flash a new map onto your car. You don’t need to uninstall or reinstall, you just download the appropriate map from our website and flash it on. It is just that easy!

  5. I was just looking into the cobb accessport for my 2002 wrx and a buddy used one on his 2002 wrx but smashed it and would sell me his. would it be safe to transfer his accessport into my wrx? Thanks!

    • You can certainly do that, however, you will need to make sure that his AccessPORT is uninstalled before it will work on your car. You won’t need the car running, but you at least need to be able to turn the car on and power up the ECU.

    • That is totally fine! The higher octane will be more than safe for your 91 octane map. However, it is the opposite that is not true, you cannot run a map designed for higher octane with lower octane fuels.

  6. Hi guys,

I just wanted to leave a note to let you know how pleased I am with the 2101 Legacy GT 93 octane retune. It literally transforms the car. Torque is improved across the entire rev range, and drivability is incredible. When you punch it in third gear, it takes of like a rocket. I actually kept up with a late-model STi in a little cat-and-mouse session on the highway.

AcessPort was the best $600 I ever spent.

  7. Hi there, i have the 2010 legacy 2.5gt with automatic transmision which is not USDM.and it seems the accessport dont support the AT legacy 2.5GT. Will you make the new accessport to support AT legacy 2.5gt?

PS: you dont support AT legacy 2.5gt yet because of the 5AT do not strong enought to bear the higher torque?

  8. Are there any maps I can use with a 2010 Legacy 3.6R, and does that model have the same ECU as the GT? The 3.6R in top trim is nearly identical to a GT but with a heavy Tribeca B9 engine and tranny.
Been reading about the various owner’s results online for many months, and this looks like a lot of fun.

    • Unfortunately the ECU between the 3.6R and the GT are completely different and we do not support the 3.6R motor. Sorry for the bad news! – Ian@COBB

  9. I have a 2010 Legacy GT, manual transmission but am based in Canada. I think the USD car is exactly the same with exception to the guages in the interior. Can I use the accessport?

    • Justin, our Subaru support does cover all of North American vehicles so you should be able to use an Accessport without any issues! – Marshall@COBB

  10. If I flash back to the stock tune, will this void any warranty with Subaru? In other words will they be able to tell I flashed my ECU?

    • During the Uninstall process we return the ECU to the exact specifications as it was prior to installation. As far as we know there is not a way to detect a previous installation at the dealership level. – Marshall@COBB

  11. I have a 2010 xt with an automatic trans, will the accessport work with this model? Here in wyoming we only have 91 octane. only mod so far is an K&N airfilter in the stock airbox. What amount of horsepower gain am I looking at possibly? Also do you have to buy the additional maps as you increase your modification, such as the Cobb downpipe, catback exhaust, larger turbo and so on. One other question doyou gain any noticeable horsepower with the sf intake and sf airbox? and if so do you have any data to back those claims up. Thanks for your time and any answers you could give me.
