Firmware Update for all Subaru AccessPORTs

COBB Tuning has released a firmware update for all Subaru AccessPORTs. Firmware version 1.6.4.0-1960 fixed a bug that caused a “no-start” issue, corrects the gear position monitor for 2010-2011 STIs and includes AccessPORT support for the 2011 Legacy GT and limited AccessPORT support for the 2011 Forester XT.

This update corrects a rare “no-start” condition after flashing the ECU. Users of AccessTUNER Race should apply this update to avoid this issue in the future.

Full support for the 2011 Legacy GT and limited support for the Forester XT is available with this update. AccessPORT part number AP-SUB-003 is capable of supporting these vehicles with a simple firmware update. A complete list of Off-The-Shelf calibrations for the 2011 Legacy GT can be found in the Legacy GT AccessPORT Map Database. Off-The-Shelf maps for the 2011 Forester XT are not available at this time. Performance maps for the 2011 Forester XT can be created via AccessTUNER software. COBB Tuning is seeking 2011 Forester XT owners in the Austin, TX area to assist with Off-The-Shelf map creation for compensation. Please email [email protected] if interested.

    • The v1 AccessPORT is no longer supported and is not updatable in the field. All current firmware updates are for the v2 AccessPORT only.

  1. I cannot believe that cobb tuning would release a update that requires 8.1 users too find a older operating system too update. This is completely ridiculous, I spent $600.00 on a tuner that I cannot even use with my current computer. Was considering upgrading from a v2 to a v3 however I am so diguested that a company would make using ap manager so difficult that I basically have no other option than too buy a used computer with an inferior operating system. Really hope you guys consider what releasing an update that requires an older operating system does too people with a new computer. It would be different if I didn’t have too install ap manager too update, this rules out using a library or work computer.

    • Drew,

All Accessport part numbers as well as Accessport Manager and Accesstuner are now compatible with Windows 8.1. I apologize for any inconveniences.

  2. just purchased a new computer installed the ap manager and emailed you guys for the race tuner witch I received very quickly thank you. but for some reason the ap manager keeps telling me to update my accestuner on an older operating system. what am I r post above says it works?

    • Wes, do you happen to be using Windows 8? If so, some older versions of Accessport firmware are not compatible. You will need to update your Accessport using a non-Windows 8 machine one time, once updated the Accessport will then be able to communicate with your Windows 8 machine.
