VOLKSWAGEN UPDATES – 2018 GTI (MK7) SUPPORT NOW AVAILABLE
The COBB Accessport and Accesstuner Pro software are now compatible with the 2018 Volkswagen GTI. Owners can now enjoy all of the parts and features they’ve come to expect from COBB Tuning including the Accessport, Stage Power Packages including several MK7 GTI parts, and Off The Shelf Maps.
ACCESSPORT FIRMWARE UPDATES
All VLK-002 Accessports with firmware version 1.7.3.0-16029 or newer are now compatible with the 2018 Volkswagen GTI. Customers who already have an Accessport can utilize Accessport Manager to update their firmware. Additional updates outlined below are available for all Volkswagen Accessports with this new firmware.

Firmware will include the same Off The Shelf (OTS) Maps that are available for the 2015-17 Mk7 GTI.

These maps now have Traction Control enabled! This allows users the ability to limit wheel spin in racing conditions without being as intrusive as the factory traction control system. Custom tuning will be required for optimal results but feature sampling is available in the Accessport through “Tune” > “Adjustments” > “Enable Traction Control” > and setting the value to “1.” You can then choose the appropriate slot for the amount of wheel slip you wish to allow.
The first table shows the relationship between allowed wheel slip at certain throttle and speeds. These values will be slot 1. Each slot increases by 2% multiplier up to slot 7. Slow 7 will allows a 20% multiplier of the above table between the drive wheels and rear wheels. Slot 8 has traction control off.

Improvements
The code reading feature on every Volkswagen Accessport has been improved. The Accessport will now show the generic OBDII code along with the Volkswagen specific code.

The model years have been removed from the naming conventions throughout the Volkswagen Platform. This was done to avoid confusion as certain ROMs were found across multiple model years. Examples include:

Not yet but we are working on it!
When the Access Port that’s compatible with the 2018 GTi DSG comes out, it’ll be a day-one purchase for me.
