About this time last year, we were well into the development cycle of Accessport tuning for the Fk8 Civic Type R.  Since releasing our first Honda Accessport in over a decade, we have also implemented some of our bespoke COBB Custom Features and added full tuning support for the FL5 Civic Type R & DE5 Integra Type S.  The COBB Hard Parts Team is deep into development of some really cool parts for the latter, more on that coming soon!  Today, we are SUPER excited to expand supported vehicle coverage with the addition of a new Accessport, the AP3-HON-002, which covers Honda’s 2017-2020 Civic Si (FC1 & FC3).

Vehicles Supported

Back in 2017 Honda took the enthusiast crowd by a bit of a surprise, moving from their tried and true naturally aspirated k-series power plants to a 1.5L turbocharged variant of their L series motor.  While the drop in displacement was a bit of a bummer, the addition of boost was certainly attractive.  These little motors are capable of some serious efficiency, and with a bit of tweaking, a great deal of fun.  The Accessport and COBB Off The Shelf maps are compatible with both the FC1 sedan and FC3 coupe, broken down below.

Accessport for Honda Civic Si (FC1/FC3) 2017-2020

Off The Shelf Maps & Power Gains

Included with the Accessport are what we call Off The Shelf Maps.  These performance calibrations are created to be used on an otherwise stock vehicle while running either 91 octane or 93 octane fuel.  In stock form, the 1.5L motor has quite a bit left on the table.  After adding in some boost, dialing in closed loop fueling, and optimizing timing in relation to observed charge air temperatures, our Calibration Team was able to add a respectable amount of power.

Below you can see our dyno graph and gains chart comparing output of our Stage 1 91 and Stage 1 93 calibrations a the stock baseline.  Where the stock car measured in at 195hp and 230tq at the wheels, our calibration team has been able to produce a very healthy 231hp and 277tq on 93 octane.  Gains on 91 octane are only slightly less, coming in at 223hp and 262tq measured at the wheels.  Full breakdown is below.  Head over to our Map Notes Page for additional information about our Off The Shelf Maps including parts and fuel requirements, revision history, and more.
