Accessport Tuning for FL5 Civic Type R & DE5 Integra Type S
Introducing FL5/DE5 Accessport Tuning
The Type R line is and will forever be synonymous with performance, enthusiasts, and aftermarket modifications. While the US wasn’t lucky enough to get some of Honda’s earlier models carrying Type-R branding, enthusiasm has been incredible for the latest generation of Civic and Integra. Our Accessport for the FK8 generation Civic Type R was launched late in 2023 and earlier this year we rolled out our first round of COBB Custom Features for the Honda Platform – Launch Control, Flat Foot Shifting, and Burnout Mode. Today, we are SUPER excited to bring that same dose of COBB love to the newest generation Civic Type R and Integra Type S with the Accessport, Off The Shelf Maps, Accesstuner Pro custom tuning, and COBB Custom Features.

Accessport for FL5 Type R / DE5 Type S
The Accessport V3 is the world’s best selling, most flexible ECU tuning solution and we are proud to now offer it for the FL5 Honda Civic Type R and DE5 Acura Integra Type S. Unlock power hidden within the vehicle by replacing conservative factory tuning with more aggressive calibrations. Upgrade forever with included off-the-shelf (OTS) calibrations and the ability to custom tune for most bolt-on modifications via Accesstuner Pro. It’s the last engine management solution you’ll ever need. Accesport functionality is not limited to applying performance calibrations to the ECU. Once installed, users are able to view live monitors, record data logs, view I/M Readiness and DTCs in the Troubleshooting Menu, and record performance metrics like 0-60mph and 1/4 mile times.
With the AP3-HON-003 Accessport, you’ll have the fastest logging rate in the aftermarket Honda scene at up to 30hz depending on monitors and even the ability log an absolutely insane 50 monitors at the same time. You’ll also have the ability to live view up to six of those data points with digital gauges on the high-resolution screen!
Auto-Logging on the COBB Accessport is a new feature designed to automatically begin a datalog as soon as the Accessport powers on without the need to press a button. After it has been configured, data logging will start recording all of the parameters from either the default log list or if you’ve opted to manually choose different monitors to record based on your personal preference or perhaps values that your authorized protuner has requested, that datalog list would be used instead. How It works – Unlocking Your ECU
Tuning your Honda Civic Type R (FL5) or Acura Integra Type S (DE5) doesn’t have to be hard and the Accessport is the all inclusive tuning option you’ve been looking for. When you purchase an Accessport for your car we will ship a custom ECU box for you to send us your ECU to be unlocked. Once you have received the ECU box with custom foam & anti-static sleeve, you will uninstall your car’s ECU and pack it up for shipping to COBB HQ with the provided shipping label. To minimize downtime, next day air shipping both ways is included with your Accessport purchase! No additional hidden fees for unlocking or shipping and super fast service. Tuning your Type R or Type S couldn’t be easier.
Off The Shelf Maps & Power Gains
Included in the Accessport, also available for download on our website, are our COBB Off The Shelf (OTS) Maps. These files are generated by our COBB Calibration Team for otherwise stock cars. Components like replacement air filters for the stock airbox and exhaust components that retain factory catalytic converters are safe to use with these OTS Maps. The Stage0 file does not increase power as it retains all factory calibration data but provides the ability to utilize all of the other Accessport functions, such as data monitoring and logging.
Included COBB Off The Shelf Maps:
Stage0 v100
Stage1 91 OCT
Stage 1 93 OCT
Our Stage 1 files are aimed at really taking advantage of what Honda has left on the table. With increased boost pressure and more aggressive timing/fueling curves, and much more, we are able to produce a significant increase in both low end torque as well as top end power. For more information about COBB Off The Shelf Maps for the FL5 and DE5 including notes about fuel and part requirements, head to our Map Notes Page.
Power gains over stock for the Integra Type S are slightly lower than the Civic Type R as the Integra benefits from an extra bump in power in stock form. You can see in the graph below the different baseline values measured with our Integra Type S. At the end of the day, with tuning, both cars make the same power.
COBB Custom Features
Launch Control
Our implementation of Launch Control is much more than a basic secondary rev limiter. It uses combination of fuel and ignition cut, plus dynamic rev limiting and load targeting based on rear (undriven) wheel speed. This setup ensures maximum repeatability in the driving mechanics of launching so that you can focus on dialing in vehicle configuration. The system will automatically control wheel slip using fuel and ignition cuts as well as automatically control target load (boost/torque) as you accelerate through first and second gears (so long as first and second gears are linked via a flat foot shift). When using COBB OTS Maps, expect to see between 4-6psi of boost built while stationary.
Six different Launch Control Rev Limit Slots are configurable in Accesstuner Pro and selectable via the Accessport. In the table above you can see how each slot will behave when using COBB Off The Shelf Maps. Each slot has a specific starting RPM limit while the vehicle is stationary which then progresses up as un-driven (rear) wheel speed increases post-launch.
Beyond the dynamic RPM Limit, we also offer dynamic Load based on un-driven wheel speed. This consists of a tunable table within Accesstuner Pro and a user-adjustable scalar on the Accessport itself.
Flat Foot Shifting
Hey, a Fuel-Cut RPM Limiter that actually works! We often see complaints of this feature being great, when it works, on other tuning platforms so it only made sense to make ours more robust. Our Flat Foot Shifting system successfully keeps the throttle plate open and bypass valve shut to retain positive boost pressure during shifts. The FFS RPM Limit is set to a default of 5500 RPM in COBB OTS Maps. It is configurable on the Accessport by increments of 50 RPM. For custom tunes, a Protuner can set the default starting value in Accesstuner Pro.
Burnout Mode
Enabling burnout mode is straight forward. Simply press and hold the ‘Cruise’ button on the car’s steering wheel while simultaneously going through the standard Launch Control Steps. Holding the ‘Cruise” button pushes the Launch Control RPM limit out of the way, allowing for wheel speed to increase to a point where building heat is quicker and easier. Once you have completed a burnout, simply release the ‘Cruise’ button and move forward with the normal Launch Control steps. The Burnout Mode Limit is set to 6000RPM in COBB OTS Maps. It is not adjustable on the Accessport but can be configured in Accesstuner Pro by a Protuner.
