Everyone knows that the Nissan GT-R is already a very powerful car, but what happens when you add larger turbos from Switzer and the power of complete access to the factory ECU with the COBB Tuning AccessPORT? HUGE POWER! Switzer’s newest big turbo package for the GT-R makes around 800bhp and 820lb/ft of torque thanks…

COBB Tuning begins coilover tests

We are excited to have our first coilover set for testing installed on our MazdaSpeed3.  The front coilover consists of an inverted strut utilizing a helper spring with a 42mm diameter piston and has an external reservoir with high speed and low speed compression adjustments, as well as rebound adjustment on the bottom of the…

COBB Tuning upgrades the GTR turbos

The testing phases of our upgraded turbos for the Nissan R35 GTR has begun. We have upgraded the compressor wheel to be 8.5mm larger than original while the turbine wheel is an impressive 10mm larger than stock. To fit these huge wheels, we have machined the stock turbos and are using custom sleeves and bearings….

COBB G37

Just a quick shot of our G37S demo car. A lot of work is going into this at the moment, particularly on the ECU. This car is out at Performance Nissan’s meet out in California for the weekend. Stop by if you’re in the area!

The ‘uncrackable’ GT-R (R35) ECU

Some claims had been made to suggest the new Nissan GT-R ECU was encrypted and ‘uncrackable’. Well folks, we’ve ‘cracked’ it. Our own GT-R is a JDM version with the fun-sapping 180 kph (112mph) speed limiter. Thankfully, it can now be removed. We’ll continue to do more in-house testing and hopefully get some beta AccessPORTs…

GT-R (R35) High Flow Cats

The new GT-R is a hard car to improve on. Nissan has really carefully thought through nearly every aspect of the car to maximize well… everything. However in carefully inspecting it one of the areas we felt we could make some improvements on was the exhaust system. At the end of the day, the GT-R…

Cat’s out of the bag : COBB’s R35

[This is a long post, hang in there] I’ve been harboring a secret from you all for a looong time… I’m a closet GT-R fanatic. Since a child, I’ve always been interested in cars. My pre-teen years were spent pouring over automotive magazines, dreaming of one day owning a Porsche 959 or some other exotic….

STC Championship

Many of you may not know this, but we manage a racing series known as the Super Tuner Car Championship.  We started it last year as a means to promote both racing in Utah but also with bigger aspirations to provide a place where the cars we loved could compete with one another.  As it…

SEMA 2007 – Wrap up

SEMA 2007 is finally over and we’ve thankfully survived another year. This year we wanted the focus to be placed on the innovative and high quality products we develop, rather than some random race project. Overall, I think it was highly successful. In addition to some of the new product concepts we unveiled, the other…

SEMA 2007 – Day 1 & 2

We’ve survived the first half of SEMA. It’s been a blast so far with a LOT of traffic and excitement at our booth (#20689). Comments have been quite varied, as has the types of people stopping by. Of course our 2008 WRX has drawn quite a bit of attention with comments ranging from, “I didn’t…

Preparing for SEMA – 2008 G37

For this year’s SEMA show, we plan on displaying a Infiniti (Nissan) vehicle along side our new Subaru vehicle. We started tinkering with the Nissan 350Z when they hit showroom floors back in 2003. We actually designed and tested several parts then, but lacked the ability to produce/support them due to lack of resources. The…
